You don't take a photograph, you make it. ~Ansel Adams

I live and work from home close to Cwmtydu - a small beach near New Quay, West Wales
I have been taking photographs from the age of twelve when my father gave me his old Brownie 127 (a snippet of information for those of you old enough to remember those old box cameras). My favourite 35mm camera was the Canon T90 where I really learned how to use a camera, and the love for that naturally led me on to Canon digital SLR's that I use today. My love of computers and image manipulation and spiralling development and printing costs drove me to give up using film primarily and embracing the digital camera from an early stage. It was wonderfully freeing to be able to take as many photographs as I wanted and a challenging experience going back to small 500k files compared to 35mm I was used to - concentrating on composition to arrive at something worthwhile, despite its lower quality resolution.

Outside of photography I've worked in the music industry for most of my working life, initially as a bookkeeper for the manager of the Tourists, a group which later spawned the incredibly successful Eurythmics and Annie Lennox and Dave Stuart's solo careers. After that I ran the UK and European side of a group merchandising company, producing and organising the sale of the official t-shirts, programmes etc for numerous rock groups of the 70's and 80's including Queen, Genesis, the Who, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Foreigner, Ozzy Osborne, Yes, Beach Boys, David Bowie, and Frank Sinatra. For the next twenty years after that I became the first official event merchandising concessionaire for the NEC in Birmingham and the London Arena in the Docklands.

In between my day job, my enthusiasm and passion for photography was undiminished and, as the years ticked by, grew steadily.
Some 8 years ago I bought a pub restaurant with my wife and 2 partners in West Wales, the Crown Inn in Llwyndafydd near New Quay, and began selling my landscapes and fine art which adorned the pub walls to much praise from the thirsty and hungry customers.

I broadened my photographic range to cover weddings and was "bitten by the bug" as a totally wonderful thing to be able to do - capture the happy and excited atmosphere of those special days and be paid for the privilege. How great is that!
I currently live and work from a small cottage near Cwmtydu - a small beach near New Quay, West Wales, with my supportive and long-suffering wife and three of my wonderful children.

I want the viewers to be moved into the lives of the people that they are looking at, the visual experience is incredibly emotional. ~Paul Fusco
